Guidelines for Parents

At KPS, we believe that education is most effective when the school and parents work hand in hand. Your partnership is vital in shaping responsible, well-rounded individuals. Please go through these carefully curated guidelines that will help your child thrive Academicsally, emotionally, and socially.

Attendance & Punctuality

Ensure your ward joins school on the notified date at the beginning of the term.
Students must strictly follow summer and winter school timings.
Regular revision, timely completion of assignments/projects, and participation in activities are expected.

Online & Offline Class Conduct

Encourage your child to fully utilize the e-learning modules, including videos, assignments, and question banks.
Discipline and punctuality must be maintained in online classes just as in physical ones.
Help your child maintain an organized schedule for online learning and homework.

Communication Protocols

Check the school almanac daily and countersign any remarks from teachers.
Mention admission number, class, and section in all communications.
Notify changes in contact information promptly via an application to the class teacher.
Use the school portal/app to stay updated and to send messages or suggestions.
Meet the Principal, In-charges, or teachers during visiting hours.

Parental Responsibilities

Attend all Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), both online and offline.
Encourage participation in games, cultural, and Co-Curricular activities.
Avoid sending valuables to school. All items should be clearly labelled with your child’s details.
Do not send your ward to school when unwell or showing symptoms of an infection.
Avoid scheduling social or medical appointments during school hours.
Refrain from entering classrooms during class hours.
Discuss issues constructively; avoid criticism of school or staff in front of children.
Refrain from birthday celebrations involving sweets or gifts. A pencil per child is permitted. Children up to Class III may wear casual dress on their birthday.
Only vegetarian meals should be packed in tiffin boxes.

Student Safety Guidelines

Personally drop and receive students (especially from Play to Class III).
In emergencies, an authorized person (photo in almanac) must carry written permission and notify the in-charge via phone.
Hire only verified drivers for school transport. Ensure they carry identification (name, vehicle number, license, and address).
Forgotten items (lunchboxes, books, etc.) are only accepted at the gate under exceptional circumstances and with proper ID verification.

Eco-Friendly Campus

KPS is a polybag-free zone. Please do not send any articles in plastic bags.

Academics Support at Home

Set a daily routine that includes time for study, rest, and play.
Provide a quiet, organized workspace at home.
Regularly talk to your child about their subjects, progress, and challenges.
Encourage curiosity, questioning, and creative thinking.

Mental & Emotional Well-being

Be mindful of signs of stress or anxiety. Foster open communication and a supportive environment.
Ensure a healthy lifestyle: regular meals, exercise, sleep, and limited screen time.
Help children express emotions positively and manage peer pressure with confidence.

Responsible Digital Usage

Monitor your child’s internet usage and promote safe, respectful online behaviour.
Teach them about cyberbullying, privacy, and how to handle online interactions responsibly.

Cultural & Community Connectiont

Participate in school events to strengthen the school-home relationship.
Encourage your child to appreciate diversity, collaborate with peers, and be empathetic.

Life Skills & Independence

Help them manage pocket money and basic budgeting.
Allow your child to take small decisions and solve problems independently.

Build a Healthy Parent-Child Relationship

Be a guide, not a monitor. Avoid excessive surveillance—trust and openness build strong bonds.
Spend quality time, talk about your day, and listen with empathy.
