Our Teaching Methodology

At Kaushik Public School, our Teaching Methodology is thoughtfully designed to reflect the integrated Academics vision of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the transformative framework introduced by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Our pedagogy is structured around the 5+3+3+4 curricular framework, introduced by the NEP and adopted by CBSE, which recognizes the distinct developmental needs of learners at every stage of schooling.

Foundational Stage (Pre-Nursery to Grade 2)

Ages: 3–8 | Duration: 5 years

At this stage, the focus is on discovery, play, and foundational skills. The learning environment is warm, inclusive, and centered around a child’s natural curiosity.

Key Features:

Play-based, activity-oriented instruction
Development of language, numbers, sensory awareness, and motor skills.
Use of rhymes, stories, art, music, and movement
Development of reading comprehension, communication, and logical thinking
Integration of experiential learning for early concept formation

The pedagogy during this phase encourages independent thinking while continuing to build confidence and communication skills.

Preparatory Stage (Grades 3 to 5)

Ages: 8–11 | Duration: 3 years

Formal introduction to environmental science, mathematics, and languages

Middle Stage (Grades 6 to 8)

Ages: 11–14 | Duration: 3 years

This stage marks a significant shift towards interdisciplinary, analytical, and inquiry-based learning. Students begin to explore Academics subjects more deeply and critically.

Transition from activity-based learning to conceptual understanding
Integration of science, mathematics, technology, social science, and arts
Introduction of coding, logical reasoning, and data handling (as per NEP)

Secondary Stage (Grades 9 to 12)

Ages: 14–18 | Duration: 4 years

At this stage, students are guided to specialize Academicsally, engage in independent inquiry, and prepare for higher education and careers. Emphasis is placed on competency-based learning, integrated knowledge, and ethical leadership.

Subject-specific learning with depth and Academics rigour
Integration of science, mathematics, technology, social science, and arts
Introduction of coding, logical reasoning, and data handling (as per NEP)
Focus on student-led projects, group discussions, and real-world applications
Development of critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
Internal assessments, portfolio-based evaluation, and holistic progress tracking (as per CBSE guidelines)
